 Even though the Municipality of Dol pri Ljubljani is not one of the largest in the country, we pride ourselves on the numerous points of interests that attract many tourists and travellers.
Danube salmon fishing The part of the River Sava running through Dol pri Ljubljani has always been an elite fishing spot for Danube salmon. King Alexander himself came here to catch these fish. After World War II, this part of the River Sava was exempt from the management of fishing societies, declared as a water body of special importance and allocated to the Fisheries Research Institute of Ljubljana. Thanks to the waste water treatment plant in Ljubljana, the Sava is clean fulfilling the wishes and expectations of numerous anglers.
